Sarah Barnat, President

Sarah Barnat founded Barnat Development LLC in October 2015 as a full service real estate development and brokerage company. She was named one of Boston Business Journal’s Power 50 Game Changers in December 2016.

In July 2016, Barnat Development was selected as the developer of the Holmes Beverly parcel, adjacent to the MBTA Beverly Depot Garage in Beverly, MA.  Ms. Barnat assembled an accomplished team which achieved the financial closing of the site in May 2017 and completed construction in August 2018.

Prior to launching her real estate development firm, Ms. Barnat was Executive Director of the Urban Land Institutes New England region.  In her 15+ years in real estate development, she has served as Vice President of Development for National Development and Trinity Financial where she oversaw the development of more than 2,000 units of housing and over 150,000 sf of retail space. 

Barnat’s mixed-use projects portfolio includes Ink Block South End; Avenir and One Canal in the Bulfinch Triangle neighborhood of Boston; Maverick Landing in East Boston; Washington Beech in Roslindale; Quinnipiac Terrace in New Haven, CT; ICON Architecture and The Foundry in Newburyport.

ICON is a 50-person, Boston-based, women-owned architectural practice. The firm’s work focuses on sustainable projects that create new paradigms for urban living.  Projects range from new transit-oriented development to innovative adaptive reuse, and from low-rise to high-rise construction. Our team has contributed to the design and construction of over 20,000 housing units throughout New England, with over 2,000 currently under design or in construction this year.

Alina Wolhardt

Wolf in Sheep Design brings the unexpected and bespoke design to the spaces they create. With a keen eye for intelligent design, the studio narrows the gap between form and function in every project. 

Exposed to great design from birth and throughout her formative years, Alina Wolhardt grew up in Tokyo and Copenhagen. She completed her higher education in Interior Architecture and training in the US.  With her international background of being half Japanese and half Danish, she was weaned into great design from birth. With an early residential design background and further experience at Elkus Manfredi Architects; Alina was entrusted to lead numerous high profile commercial projects.

Now leading Wolf in Sheep Design from Boston but working across the country, Alina and her team are focused on each clients needs. They strive for personal attention to executional details for every project and ensuring each client loves their space. Bringing the unexpected to design with a playful approach, just as Wolf in Sheep Design do.
